Hello.
My name is Molly Schweitzer, and I am a Music Education major at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. I will be graduating in April of 2018.
My first passion is working with children. They are full of energy, creative, authentic, and hilarious without even trying. Coming from a family who does foster care, I have grown up with children of all ages and backgrounds with varying personalities and interests. I always loved being a mentor-like figure for my foster brothers and sisters, and once I grew up, I gravitated toward jobs that involved working with children. Consequently, the transition to a teaching career was quite natural for me.
Creativity, honesty, community, creativity, dexterity, history, culture, perseverance, and critical-thinking are all words that can be applied to the music-making process. I understand that not every person may love music as much as me, but I will always work to help my students connect to the music in some way. Furthermore, I have a deep love for learning, and I hope to inspire my students to live a life filled with daily discovery.
